A clock is made up of a million and one tiny pieces working together for a common purpose. Artistically, the build and functionality of a clock is echoed in our company’s exploration of how we as human beings are all interconnected and fragile, and the mechanics of Clockwork Theatre function to bring focus to the complexity and elaborateness of the human experience.
Clockwork Theatre exists for a dual purpose: our mission is to support emerging theatre artists in Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver area by providing them with opportunities to cultivate their craft, and our vision is to challenge Vancouver audiences with hard-hitting stories, interwoven with the delicacy and intricacies of human life. At Clockwork Theatre we are committed to you – you the theatre artist and you the audience member.
An original devised pieced, created by the Green Room Theatre Camp.
Presented at The International Vancouver fringe Festival
September 10th – 20th, 2015
Clockwork Theatre is co-producing a devised piece with BlackJacq Productions this summer for the Vancouver Fringe Festival. But this isn’t just any ol’ devised piece, it is a devised piece completely created by inner-city high school students in Surrey, BC.
BlackJacq Productions has created a summer camp, Green Room Theatre Camp, which gives experience to inner city youth to design, write, act out, develop, produce a play, and perform it at the Fringe Festival in Vancouver.
The students have chosen to explore the topic, and their own personal experiences, of growing up. Because they believe many of the joys and heartaches faced in growing up are timeless and universal, they have also decided to explore the theme through different eras. These kids are mega talented and their writing and performances are sure to wow you.
