Read all about Fool for Love‘s sound designer, CJ McGillivray. This girl is involved in so many facets of the theatre, as a playwright, actor, sound designer, and more. We’re sure you’ll come across her work multiple times in the future, if you have not already. Why? Because she’s talented and determined, and that’s exactly what the theatre needs.
Through her studies in Acting for Stage and Screen at Capilano University, CJ McGillivray fostered a passion for script development, musical composition and sound design. Her recent experience represents a broad range of absurd comedy and intimate drama. Past production roles include director and sound designer for Last Night (Sacred Space Festival), sound designer for Antigone (Theatre Pandora), sound designer for Writers Block (Dark Day Theatre) and assistant stage manager for Macbeth (Carousel Theatre). Her ear is often drawn to gentle acoustic soundscapes that compliment the drama unfolding on stage. Apart from her exploration of dissonance and harmony, CJ McGillivray is incredibly passionate about the ethical representation of mental illness and trauma through the avenue of self expression. She is honoured to be working with Clockwork Theatre as the sound designer on their upcoming production of Fool for Love.
