Introducing: Kyriel Hedge

Today we wrap up our 5th week of rehearsals. We can’t believe how fast it has gone by and how quickly The Fringe Festival will be upon us. To say we are all over the moon is an understatement.

Below you will be introduced to Kyriel Hedge. Not only does Kyriel have one of the coolest names, but he is one of the coolest people. He’s always thinking outside the box and bringing wild ideas to our project, whether writing or acting. Keep an eye out for Kyriel’s name in the future, the director is convinced he could write a world-renown novel one day.

Tell us about your theatre background.
I have been acting since Grade 9, and my first role was Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

What has been your favorite part about Green Room Theatre Camp and the devised piece you’re creating, so far?
I love how involved everyone is, and how much effort all of us are putting in to make something of our own.

What excites you most about performing at the Vancouver Fringe Festival?
Performing. I love being on stage.

What do you hope audiences take away from the devised piece you’re creating?
I want people to realize that teens can do more than just complain. I want our play to show people the golden side of our generation.

When you’re not doing theatre, what do you spend your time on?
I play a lot of video games, but I also write occasionally.

What do you hope to do after high school?
I want to go to post secondary. I want to keep pursuing theatre.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
I would be a fox. I love foxes.

 Who is your hero?
That’s a broad question. I give a lot of praise to actors like Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion, among many other people.

What is your favorite movie?
I really like both of the How to Train Your Dragon‘s..

If you could go on a road trip with anyone, dead or alive, who would you go with and where would you travel to?
Someone I like and somewhere cool. I have a few places in Europe I’d like to see; The Netherlands, Ireland, and Denmark to name a few.

If you had to grow up in a different era, which would you choose?
Quite a while ago, like, stone houses in the ground. I would have learned many things that can’t be easily accessed today.

What excites you, and what terrifies you, about growing up?
I’m eager to be more of my own person, but very little has taught me about other very important things, like taxes or keeping a job.

If you had to pick an alias name, what would it be?
Bxxtyu45. It’s pronounced “Thomas”.

What is something people may not know about you?
I have around thirteen goats in my backyard.
